It's ok to share...

Looking for a way to make your home smell great but can’t stand the chemical smell of ordinary air  fresheners? You’re not alone. Stick around to learn how you can make your own DIY essential oil room spray that will make your home smell amazing.

For many of us homemakers, one key factor in determining if a home feels comfortable and welcoming is by the way it smells. We often opt for grocery store air fresheners and sprays that are heavily scented with chemicals. If this is worrying to you yet you’re not willing to give up the freshness of your home, making your own DIY essential oil room spray is the perfect solution. It’s a guilt-free way to cover any unwanted odors while also providing aroma-therapeutic benefits, such as easing congestion, nausea, fatigue, anxiety, and other physical or psychological ailments.

We’ll go over where to start and some different oil combinations so that you can start benefiting from making your own DIY essential oil room spray.

What You’ll Need

  1. Spray bottles – Starting out you’ll want to make sure you have some spray bottles on hand. You can find spray bottles online or at your local grocer, or if you want to be more environmentally friendly, you can clean out and reuse extra spray bottles you have laying around the house. The more bottles you have, the more DIY essential oil room spray combinations you can try!
  2. Distilled water – The first ingredient in our DIY essential room spray is distilled water. You’ll want to fill your bottles ¾ of the way with the distilled water.
  3. Witch hazel – The next thing you’ll need is witch hazel. After pouring in the distilled water, fill the majority of the rest of the bottle with the witch hazel, saving a little bit of room for the essential oils.
  4. Essential oils – Last but not least are the essential oils. You’ll need a collection of whichever essential oils you’re the most drawn to.
